On Monday, May 11th, Governor McMaster lifted the Executive Order on Close Contact Businesses. This modification is effective on Monday, May 18th, 2020.
Based on advice and recommendations from SCDHEC and AccelerateSC, Governor McMaster has established a thorough list of general guidelines for close contact businesses, which can can be found here.
In addition, there are specific guidelines for certain businesses:
All these guidelines are consistent with the manual produced two week ago with the Partnership for Small Business Recovery that addresses best practices that are useful for our close contact businesses. You may find “Open in SC: A Suggested Best Practices Manual in Preparation of Reopening the South Carolina Economy,” HERE.
In preparation of South Carolina reopening close contact businesses, the Chapin Chamber is hosting a virtual workshop this Friday, May 15th at 11:00, entitled “Using Technology to Safely Reopen Your Close Contact Business.” This workshop aims to discuss methods to ensure that your business is properly monitoring employee health, managing sanitation protocols in real time and more. This workshop is geared for restaurants, hair salons, nail salons, spas, gyms and other close contact businesses. If you are interested in participating in this Zoom workshop, make sure to register HERE. A Zoom link will be emailed to all registrants one hour prior to the event.
As South Carolina continues to reopen businesses and the economy, it is encouraged to continue to observe social distancing measures. The Chapin Chamber will continue to update our members and our community as more information becomes available.
